His son, David Sayas Jr., stands in for his father in some shots, and they both look strikingly similar. Appearing throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later, in season two, the scar has moved to his right side, leaving his left side unmarked.

My eyes adjusted over the years until the darkness became my world and I could see. Dexter, a forensic scientist by day, a serial killer with a vigilante touch by night. Dexter creates a believable and very detailed portrait of a troubled, let's say sociopath.

Thrilling story, lots of detail, and one of the best opening sequences ever

One of the parts of the show I like the most is the emotions that normal people display, so Dexter is forced to imitate them. Dexter laughs a lot when his fake emotions become real, and his "girlfriend" Rita, a mother of two and a victim of her abusive ex-boyfriend.
