Scenario

World War II nurse Claire Beauchamp Randall mysteriously travels back in time to Scotland in 1743. There, she meets a Highland warrior and becomes embroiled in an epic rebellion. Moore (the series' creator), his staff decided to keep the Gaelic words instead of translating them into English.

This kept the first-person narrative, showing Claire's inability to understand Gaelic

The idea was suggested by producer David Brown, who said he had seen something similar in Skin Deep (1998), a foreign alternative film starring actor and singer Gustavo Goulart. In several episodes, the characters say "OK." ; An American expression used only in the 19th century. The opening theme song changes from season to season to reflect the events taking place in the story.

Tribal drums are introduced in season 3, as most of the season is set in the West Indies

In the first half of season 2 (which is set in France), some of the lyrics are in French. In the second half of season 2 (which is mostly about preparing for war), a militaristic drum roll is also added to the opening theme. Season 4 also features bluegrass fiddle and banjo, and some of the lyrics are sung in a Southern accent, as the season is mostly set in America.

I sang the entire series and I really liked it!
