The only location unavailable was Winfield House, the royal residence of the American ambassador
Scenario
In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, lands a high-profile job she is ill-suited for, with tectonic implications for her marriage and her political future. The producers convinced the American and British governments to let them use real-life locations as filming locations for the series, including the still-new American embassy (in Nine Elms), which opened in 2018. Britain allowed filming inside the office of the foreign secretary, an honor rarely granted to any film or movie production, especially an American one. Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest plot of residential land (11 acres) in London outside Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes.

There was a point, I think it was halfway through the first season of the show, where one of the subplots took a slightly different direction than I expected, and that was fine. Otherwise, the dysfunctional relationships - both personal and professional - between the main characters somehow work, and I like that. The writers did a good job of keeping the action focused. Both the characters and the plots work.
Are they believable?
Sure, it's not very believable, but it's entertaining and sometimes tense. "Madam Secretary" is not; neither is "Veep." And that's a good thing. I should also mention that the acting and dialogue are also very good. The cast is well cast.
But that's okay
Again, no. I realized pretty quickly that this is fantasy, not reality. Netflix did a good job with that. I'm really looking forward to season 2.
Please don't ruin it
