Scenario

A maniac named Art the Clown terrorizes two friends and anyone else who gets in his way on Halloween. David Howard Thornton was the sixth person to audition for Art the Clown after Mike Giannelli dropped out of the role and his acting career. During his audition, he pretended to taste the blood of his decapitated victim, but then added salt to improve the taste.

In shots of Tara being gagged with duct tape, in some early shots the tape is clearly not touching the bottom of her mouth, while in others it's tightened around her mouth. Yes, this movie is like that

Have you ever watched a horror movie where the characters make SO MANY STUPID CHOICES that you stop hoping they'll escape and instead hope they'll put an end to their misery? Art the Clown is a plus because he's genuinely scary - great costume/makeup and great characterization on his part. But the victims ultimately committed the sin of not caring whether they lived or died.

These weren't bad concepts, just poorly executed (no pun intended). The movie is reminiscent of some traditional slasher movies in the mystery of the killer's identity and motivations, so that doesn't bother me at all, as a slasher movie, but the characters' stupid choices are awful, regardless of the genre of the movie.
